Welcome to the virtual home of the Statistics and Computational Biology research group at IMISE / University of Leipzig headed by Korbinian Strimmer.
News: We welcome Professor Carsten Wiuf in Leipzig! He is
visiting under the auspices of an Alexander von Humboldt research award from June to December 2010.
We conduct research in applied statistics and bioinformatics, with the following focus:
- Biostatistical applications:
Analysis of genomic and proteomic data, spatial modeling, image analysis, network inference, systems biology. - Statistical methods:
High-dimensional inference, shrinkage approaches, regularization methods, model selection, false discovery rates, information theory, statistical geometry, machine learning.
Our group is part of SyBiL, the Leipzig research cluster for Bioinformatics, Biostatistics and Biomedical Modeling.
